We strongly recommend that the litter box be scooped at least twice a day for your cat's comfort and hygiene.
Not doing so may cause your cats to avoid the litter box, which can be the beginning of litter box issues that may be hard to overcome. It can also cause the litter box to begin to smell. No matter how wonderful litter is at eliminating ammonia odors, after a certain "tipping point," a dirty litter box will emit noticeably unpleasant odors.
We have subscribers who scoop multiple times a day, and of course with multiple cats it becomes more important.
Because the litter box is tied to your cat's comfort and anxiety levels - a true "connection" with nature - we always recommend doing all you can to keep the litter box as clean as possible. In the end it may help avoid behavioral problems which will be harder to deal with than simply scooping regularly.
This is also why we've worked so hard on our litter brand, it keeps the litter box extremely clean throughout us because it clumps very well and doesn't crumble when scooped. The result is a litter box that is as fresh for your cat after you scoop as when you first poured in a new bag.

We look to ways of keeping cats comfortable, happy, and using the litter box. Following these and other basic rules of litter box care can help avoid problems from coming up if your cat uses the box well, and help to alleviate problems if your cat already has litter box issues. Please note that some litter box behaviors and avoidance can be a sign of medical problems - if your cat has litter box issues or you notice changes in litter box behavior, it is important to take your cat to a good veterinarian. Although we are lifelong cat lovers and Boxiecat brand litter is veterinarian recommended, the writers of the article wish to state that we are not qualified to give medical advice.
